Ouran High School Host Club is a total hawt. How Hatori develops the simple, transparent plot into a whole series with full comedy and romance that isn't really cliché at all. In fact, how she uses the clichéness that often inside every shoujo mangas makes it look different, and undoubtedly funny. I really love how she makes the character development on each Hosts. It's like... They do live in this reality. And making rich people in our eyes are not that bad at all.

The Host that I fell in love for the first time Kaoru and Hunny. Somehow I always imagine Hunny as Kurt Hummel and Kaoru as Darren Criss. They're both BAMF?

When I first started watching Ouran, I thought the anime was a bit too exaggerated and annoying and stopped watching it for a while. But afterwards, when my friend told me that she fell in love with this anime and that this series gets really exciting and funny, I started to pick it up again. And this time.....I GOT ADDICTED!!! Since mum and dad banned me from watching animes until after my yearly exams, (they also blocked most of the websites and youtube) I secretly found one website that wasn't blocked and continued to watch Ouran... I just hope I will do well in my exams, but it was totally worth it!!!

I think that OHSHC is the best shoujo anime to have been invented so far!! I have to admit,I have been kinda lazy while reading the manga so instead I watched the anime like 5 times without ever getting bored. I could list the things that I like about the anime but that list could go on forever. i might even do a marathon of the anime just to spot those special moment but I wont. I haven't rewatched the anime in like 4-5 months, but I'll try my best to pic the most awesome moments:
EP 1: TAMAKI-SEMPAI (sry just had to do the fan girl scream) Ok lets get serious. The LIGHTBULBS: who could have not loved that, when everyone realized thats he was a girl exept for the dense Tamaki. That was something nobody could top. And lets not forget COMONERS's COFFEE!! And honey sempai in the corney with Bunny-chan
Ep 2: (SPOILERS) hikari's first kiss being a girl while Tamaki accidently made it happen!! PRICELESS
Ep 2-3: FANCY TUNA!!
Ep4: Tamaki blushing while being complimented by Haruhi (AHHH so cute)
Ep5: THE TWins (spoilers) the mischievous twins and their skillfully planned deception
Ep 6: Hikaru: "ZIP IT"
Dont remember which ep:Haruhi singing and her DAD!!! (i'll let ur imagination go wild)
Ep 13: HARUHI IN WONDERLAND
Ep 16: HARUHI AND HIKARU in the Church on the rainy day
Ep 17: Kyouya the grouchy riser

Ok I think I'll stop here

What can I say? Ouran is perhaps the single most impressively put together anime/manga series in the shoujo genre. And no, it actually wasn't the one I followed closest, but it IS the one that is the most...ingenious. Yes there are plenty of series that are hilarious, but very few top Ouran in that category. Not to mention the characters, oh the characters. There's someone for everyone! The mangaka is damn smart I tell you. Plus, and the heroine is absolute LOVE. She's amazing. And I will not say that for ANY other shoujo heroine.

Even if Ouran may not be somebody's cup of tea, it's very difficult to completely rip this series apart in a critique, because everything is executed so flawlessly you kind of end up wondering how the author managed it when mangas are usually so easy to criticize! From the beginning to the very end, there might be slower moments, but nothing that's just a big whopping fail. And the ending for the manga (and anime) was just dead on. Completely perfect and appropriate imo. I usually get disappointed by 99% of series' ends because of my unrealistically high expectations, but Ouran's end left me no room for complaints. I was so pleased! Though, I did like the anime better because it was so beautiful and lively - and the art was better. The soundtrack was amazing, and the voice acting too. I'm just amazed at this serious, continuously. It's...classic. The only series to date that I haven't been able to find anything major to complain about.

Oh and just for fun, I'm stuck between Tamaki and Kyouya. I adore them both. :3

Monoroo's CODE:

I'm not going to take down your chaotic comment because it amuses me. But you're only allowed ONE rambling time-waster that repeatedly emphasizes your heteronormative "success" with "a fiancee" on this blog. This is your one. Now play nice.

My Fiance just picked this one up from the anime section of the local movie shop. I really do not wish to watch these insane overly perverse testaments to teenage girly story lines. More over I was watching the end of back to the future 3 while it was being played inside the store, so to be nagged eneough away from that and into looking at these silly cartoons was a catastrophic moment for both me and the evil twin that lives inside of me. Nonetheless I was indeed pulled away and forced into actually finding an interesting one for her as she could not seem to this after realizing all of her favorite titles that she did not own were not in stock. I came across gilgamesh - a wild tail of terrorism, mirror skies, mutant dwarves, an evil brother and sister duo plus more (so said the series description on the back cover). I suggested GILGAMESH with pride, and then my attention was brought to this odd over priced title OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB. I was not excited, and 26 episodes for $70.... Come ON! Plus GILGAMESH seemed to offer so much more. The good news was that my girlfriend wasnt gettin sucked into payin the big cash price, however ... Aslas I could not be the one to let her little pretty heart collapse. So I did the only rational thing - stuffed in a bag that I had on me, ran past the security gaurd with my girlfriend, and then shot through the skylight window flying off to a daring escape. Now all we have to do is watch it. I'll let ya know later how it was - PEACE!

I actually got talked into watching this, cuz when the show first came out, i wanted to watch it, but my brother wouldn't let me cuz he said it was yaoi. I tried to sneak-watch it, failed, and gave up. Last spring however, my friend brought it back up and i watched it and fell in love! I then called my girl friends and sent links to them. We fan-girled. XD My guy friends asked what we were going on about. I told them. All but one (out of five; the other one already watched it! XD) went to watch and loved it! So i have got even men hooked on Ouran.
