Well, I do think everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, and I’d probably reasonably agree to all your conclusions if it were meant to depict a realistic scenario.

Fact of the matter is, anime is a stretch of imagination. It’s meant to bring you, the audience, into an extended world where some real-life principles are modified, and others don’t apply. So, as unrealistic as the premise of the second-place complex is, I’ll bear with it and see what it comes out with.

And, it turns out, quite a lot. The SA challenges our ideas on normalcy and idolatry, and as much as it panders to those who need setting details to dream themselves impossibly rich, it makes others painfully aware that being on Forbes isn’t the be-all and end-all of human happiness, and sometimes, rich people just want to be people before being rich, an underlying motif that few reviews pick up on.

I think it’s fine and all for reviews to comment on detail, but if the whole review is centered on minor pickings (voice actors, character-specific traits) rather than the thematic texture, then I do hope that readers and reviewers will reconsider their stand.

You know, S.A. Is quite a unique and cute anime. With all the romantic/comedy/school life anime in the world, This is one of the rare ones that I absolutely love. Maybe we just have different taste. Well, some of the parts in the anime and manga make me feel embarrassed even though I’m not in it. Hehehe. All I could say is, If you dont like the anime, please, please, please, STFU, and look for other animes that you would love. Shut up and stop whining… Let me tell you something, What if you were the author of an anime, or a big fan, then you see some freaking blog posted by a jerk saying..”Oh,oh this anime is f*cking bad; the girl is such an idiot, such and such” Please if ya want to say something, please just keep that b*llsh*t in your head, you jerk.

I think I have to agree with Reina. It’s a good anime/manga. Somehow adds color to one’s dull and boring love life…for me I guess.

I actually watched the 26 episodes of S.A. It was funny at time but I have to comment that there isn’t enough character development in all its characters. Furthermore, I see a lot of loop holes in the plot. There were times that I feel at a loss in the story. It isn’t as great as Ouran or His and Her circumstances but it is entertaining

You see what you want to see. If your gunna be totally critical you could say the girl is a loser with a pointless goal who should just give up.

Or could see that shes determined and will beat the guy someday.

But I agree that Kei is a bit sexist. Which did annoy me. But hey thats how some people are. Hikari will prove him wrong one day. Kei sees that she never gives up.

I couldn’t even get past the 1st episode, for goodness sake. Hm, who was that guy again… KEI.

Well: “LOL, I totally dislike peasants. Oh, and Hikari, you said something about beating me in -insert a challenge-? Well, guess what. -proceeds to rub his superiority in her face-”
And then near the end of the first episode, when some random people went to steal exam info, he came in and was like: “You know what? Hikari is a very strong and lovely person and I actually love her very much LOL”

My friend tried to persuade me to continue it because she claims that Kei eventually becomes nicer to Hikari, but no. Just, no.
