The Queen’s Knight Mini Review (manhwa)

PG-13 for some violence and sexuality; official series website
For those of you who waited 4 years for the 4th I.N.V.U. and now can’t stand the pressure of waiting for Volume 5, you can do as most impatient geeks do–look to the creator for other work. Also from manwhaka Kim Kang Won, The Queen’s Knight is 15 volumes worth of actual, honest-to-God completed (I hope) manhwa. The plot here is the classic average-girl-sucked-into-a-magical-world deal, but the entire first volume is spent filling out the girl’s life on Earth, so we can probably expect some world-hopping later a la Fushigi Yuugi. Although I can’t say anything particularly exciting or insightful has happened in the first two volumes–and indeed, Volume 2 was mostly just the main girl arguing with her love interest–the manga is still a fun read and showcases Won’s light, engaging style. I have high hopes for this one.
Initial impression: Worth a try if you’re interested in Kim Kang Won or “girl in another world” stories. (Lianne)
What, no love for this? =O
Admittedly, it’s a bit of a guilty pleasure thing but meh that’s fine too. Just don’t hold out much hope for the ending. I heard it’s quite disappointing.
