I loved this manga series. I mean, there are so many mangas that I’ve tried to finish but never have but High School Debut was way too addicting. I instantly fell inlove with it. It isn’t explicit or perverted, the heroine is actually someone you can look up to and the subplots were hilarious. Haruna and Yoh make such a good couple considering their naive-ness when it comes to love.

The manga is sweet and shows a realistic and cute romance. This will remain as one of my favorite manga of all time. *sigh* I really miss it T_T I wish they made an anime!

That was a really good review! Equally good like High school debut. There’s practically nothing like it! I found it very addicting and was surprised the shy innocence of it. I had been expecting a short story that would have a basic, imperfect guy and quiet cutsie girl, (probably a manga I would drop off my reading list….)but boy was I wrong! I instantly fell in love with it! I loved how Haruna wasn’t that afraid to show her tough side Yoh!!! The only mangas I’d have to say kind of reminded me of this was Kaichou wa Maid-sama, and definitely Otokomae beads club…(check them out!!!)

I heard there will be a sequel one-shot; eternal love debut. It will be short but atleast it will be a sweet continuation of high school debut! Can’t wait! It will probably be scanlated during late Febuary or early March. I’m so excited!!!!

How nice to see you’ve mentioned almost all good points High School Debut has! I tried reading it at work after seeing its synopsis, yet I couldn’t resist finishing it as soon as I got home.

It’s totally magnetic.Addictive,to some extent.It’s also short so it’s pretty easy to read! Awesome pick for all gals (and maybe guys) out there!

“The way they deal with the physical parts of romantic relationships is a little odd, too; of course plenty of people don’t have sex in high school, but the teenagers of High School Debut barely seem to know it exists and treat closed-mouth kissing like it’s the ultimate form of physical affection.”

Actually I think that’s more of Haruna’s point of view than the rest of the school, after all we’re seeing everything through her eyes mostly. She’s pure hearted and quite naive and not having been in a relationship before (or even having much interest in them until she entered high school) and being a newbie to this sort of thing makes it all new and foreign to her. You can see the others are at least a little more knowledgeable about the subject as evidenced by everyone buy Haruna understanding what an overnight trip meant (that was one of the funniest scenes up to the volume i’m in imo). Also you can see that Asami at least is quite experienced in the whole relationship business. Anyway I think the mangaka was going for a more wholesome innocent first time romance, where it’s awkward and neither side is proficient in the business of romancing. I think that’s what really made me love this manga, coz in most other shoujos at least one member of the couple (usually the guy) is quite the experienced smooth lover and in this you get to see some honest views on how awkward and embarrassing first time romance is for the inexperienced..and how they eventually handle it!

I agree. I thought that the cover looked really cute and well drawn, and the rest of the book was too! This manga style is so great and amazing and the story is so relatable. You can’t stop reading after the first book, you just have to go on to the next.

It’s nice to read a manga that leaves me feeling good after I read it for a change….. especially one as well written/drawn as this one. The plot has a nice flow, the characters are relatable and likable, and the romance is the sweet, untainted kind of love that I can’t help but be drawn to (as I’m sure many others out agree).

I think this culture focuses too much on sex, drugs, and violence; some of us out here just want to read (or watch) something that doesn’t leave us with a bitter taste in our mouths. High School Debut accomplishes this.

If anyone’s looking for a great romance, High School Debut is a must read!
