PG-13 for slightly adult themes; official series website (manga)

A teenage playboy is stuck taking care of a little girl and ends up loving her oh so much. Although the premise is one that walks the razor-thin “works awesome/works terribly” line, the execution in this show made me gag. Weak animation, an excess of exceedingly annoying voice-acting, flat/trite characters, and the icing on the cake: some of the worst animation directing I’ve ever seen. It’s bad enough that this show is flat and annoying, but with directing that’s both boring and awkward, we have a flat-annoying show at a crawling pace. YES! The only thing I found redeeming about the anime (after taking two tries to get through the first episode) is that the closing theme sounds kinda cool if sped up. I’ve never read the manga, but it would take a pretty serious bribe to get me to try it.

Initial Impression: Don’t bother with this series if you love yourself and all that is good. (Lianne)

I had read the manga and I come to love it. When I found out there’s an anime, I was greatly thrilled but when I’ve read the summaries, I already knew it sucks. I, too, didnt bother watching the anime. The best part was cut off. I suggest you read the manga before you come to hate this series. ;)

Yeah, I do like a good love-the-baby story, but there’s already the fabulous Baby and Me manga from Viz to fill that gap (and the old Baby and Me anime was actually kinda awesome). But since you’re not the only one to tell me the Aishiteruze Baby manga is very likable, I may give it a shot at some point.

I think your readers would appreciate a review based on the series rather than 1 episode that you could barely stomach. It’s actually not as bad as you make it out to be in my opinion. I watched the entire series. The story has a way of growing on you as you continue to watch. The animation could be better for something produced in 2005. However the artwork does stay very close to the manga.

This show is for the patient people with a sweet tooth. Decide for yourself after watching more than 1 episode.
