Can’t breathe - laughing.

Oh my God. Look at this: http://blog.newsarama.com/2008/04/22/another-look-at-the-manga-style-wolverine-x-men/#more-7927

No no! Even better, look at this:

He’s got cold eyes. Get it?

I didn’t ask Anzu or Del Ray or even Newsarama if I could post that, so I may have to take it down later. But look at it! And then go read the article, and the absolutely precious comments.

Can’t all geeks just get along? I have X-Factor on my shelf next to Fruits Basket, and the Master and Commander movie next to my Loveless DVDs. I know a kid who used to keep a Magic: The Gathering pin on the inside of his rugby letterman’s jacket, and a girl who went to a rock concert but only bonded with the band once they saw her DS. We’ve cross-breeded. It’s over. Embrace the new era of the geek mutt.

Oh, that pin was never _hidden_ under his jacket. It was out for all to see. Yah, it was weird.

Some of the “shojo” character sketches lack technical skill (Kitty’s hand worries me), but these are just sketches so I suppose there is a lot of room for improvement before the comic.

But other than that, I’m a shameless fangirl and will equally shamelessly add strangely gothy Nightcrawler to my shelf ASAP.

I swore those were character designs from Nighthead Genesis until I clicked the link.

Gah. Those are the creepiest genera-shoujo character designs I’ve ever seen. They don’t even seem to have a general style, they all look like they could be from different series.

But I agree about the nerd mutt. It’s time is here.

Yeah, I don’t think the shoujo character designs look too promising, either - their technical quality seems superficial, and there’s very little originality. But I guess we’ll see when the actual comic comes out.
